11. How does EMC finance its business activities?

EMC is a 501-C non-profit organization. Its income producing activities are restricted to maintaining that status. Annual membership dues, and educational modules that teach medical malpractice avoidance by specialty via Internet website education for each medical specialty will be a regular income producing component. Research grants for closed claim review of expert medical witness testimony via conversion to electronic medical records are being applied for via the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services. EMC’s structure as a non-profit organization whose mission is a benefit and improvement to the medical profession and patient care also qualifies it for numerous foundation grants and support in furtherance of this mission. Applications for this type of support are ongoing.
